Trunk or Treat

The girls had Trunk or Treat at Cubbies last week! It ended up being held indoors due to possible rain, but the kids had fun nonetheless!

Show 'n Tell

Last week it was Claire's turn to take something to preschool for show 'n tell that started with the letter "G". She told me she couldn't think of  "one single thing that started with "G". So, I asked her ... "Claire, what kind of dog is Sophie?" and immediately she said "Mommy, can I go ask Mrs. Murray if I can bring my greyhound in for show 'n tell"? So funny how quickly she picked up on that one and of course, her teachers said yes!
Waiting to take the Sophster in to her classroom!

Claire was telling her classmates a little about the greyhound breed. She did so well. We went over some interesting breed specifics and the kids thought it was neat that she was a racing dog with tattoos in her ears!

Every child in the class took a turn petting Sophie (my niece Caroline petting her in this pic!). Sophie was a terrific greyhound ambassador. I had no doubts!

Possum Creek

When Ben and I were in NYC, Grammy & Papa were nice enough to watch our girls for us. I am pretty certain that they didn't even miss us while we were gone because they were kept so busy! One day they went to Possum Creek (our favorite Metro Park) for a fun day at the farm!
I love this one of Anna wearing her horse shirt standing by Rosie the horse!!

The next bunch of photos are so funny! The sequence shows the interaction between Claire and the goat!! Claire's face in this one is hilarious!!

Is there anything better than animals? Don't you think the Lord was being kind when he created them?

Halloween Haunt

We took the girls to the Halloween Haunt at King's Island! What a beautiful, fun, fall day we had together!!

The roller coaster is definitely the girls favorite ride (and fun for us too!).

Grandpa Shepherd

A few pics from our trip up north to see Grandpa Shepherd! We wish we could see him more, but enjoy every second we're with him. He is such a special person!
4 Generations - It was great that Grammy could go with us to visit her dad! She was a big help with the girls!

This cracks me up... a 3 & 5 year old teaching their great grandpa about the iPad!

Special memories! We sure do love him!

Cubbies

Anna has asked every week since Cubbies started back in early September, if she can hold one of the flags during the opening ceremony. I told her to raise her hand quietly when Mr. Doug asks for volunteers and eventually all the quiet, respectful children will get a chance to hold a flag. Well, her time came and she was very excited to hold the AWANA flag! It doesn't take much to please this little girl!

Windmill Farms

The girls and I went on our annual hayride to Windmill Farms. My friend Brittney planned it and we had a great time! Fall activities are so much fun!
The posing from Anna is cracking me up!

Some our group!

Love 'em!

More posing... so funny!

NYC Baby!

We jammed packed our two days in the city with a lot of sightseeing! We did sooo much walking that we definitely burned off all the ridiculously good food we ate!!
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on Wall Street. We did get to see the protesters, although they were forced into a small park away from Wall Street. Not that exciting!

One of the new Freedom Towers being built to replace the Twin Towers. So neat to see all they have done at Ground Zero.

Ground Zero. Very surreal being there, such a sad and traumatic time in our nation's history.

We went to the top of 30 Rock (one of the few observations decks in the city), and got this spectacular view of NYC at night. The Empire State building is to the left and those bright lights to the right is Times Square. WOW!

Being silly as we attempt to take a pic of ourselves with the skyline behind us! We had a lot of fun!

Someone felt sorry for us and took our picture!

Ben in the midst of the craziness known as Times Square!

Broadway!

Our hotel... the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. I HIGHLY recommend it!

We took a carriage ride through Central Park. I'm with Dennis the horse and Brendan our guide!

On our carriage ride!
Thanks Babe for a much needed getaway with YOU!! I would've been happy anywhere with you, but NYC was about as good as it gets!
