We had a "Girls' Day Out" and Beth, Grammy & I decided to go to Shackleford Banks. Shackleford is known as the best place for shelling on the east coast and also know for the wild horses that live on the island. If you have a second you should visit www.shacklefordhorses.org/about.htm . The history of the wild horses is so interesting and simply amazing! The horses have been on the island since the 16th century and DNA testing has proven they are descendants of the Spanish horses and presumed to have been brought over by Columbus. We were ecstatic to get to see several of the horses up close and personal! We also found some pretty neat sea shells!
