Marshmallow Madness

So... I am not going to get mother of the year award for allowing my 7 month old to eat a marshmallow, but it was the cutest thing watching her pure excitement as she tasted the sweetness of a marshmallow for the first time! As a side note, she was supervised during this taste testing event by a trained professional (ME!). Anyway, as you can imagine she LOVED the marshmallow and actually started to cry when it was gone. No, I didn't give her another one, although I wanted to. I was a bit concerned she would never eat her fruits and veggies again, but have no fear she went back to her normal foods without a fuss! It's okay to have some fun every once in awhile!

Future Coupon Clipper!

The other evening I was going through all the Sunday adds and coupons. I was on the floor playing with Claire when I decided to this, so I had the papers spread out all around me! It was so funny because Claire had been playing great with her toys, but as soon as she saw all the colorful adds she rolled her way on over to me and before I knew it she had them all over the place. She had so much fun throwing the papers up in the air and chewing on them! I couldn't believe how long it kept her entertained! Much longer than any toy we have for her. I'm sure she's like all other kids and more interested in playing with the paper and boxes than toys!

Okay... so I had to add more because I love so many of them it was too hard to choose!

6 Month Professional Pictures

Here are just a couple of my favorites from Claire's 6 month professional pictures taken by Kim McCloud! I think she does a great job of capturing Claire's sweet expressions and innocence!

7 Months Old

On Friday Claire turned 7 months old! She is getting so big and trying to crawl, but not there yet! She has been very quick with her developmental milestones. She is definitely a go-getter! We are having the time of our lives right now. Claire brought a new dimension to our life and a love we never new existed until we held her in our arms! We are so blessed!

Not the smiliest of photo sessions... that's for sure!

Where's Claire?

The other day Claire was playing on the floor with her toys and I ran into the kitchen to get something to eat. Usually she just sits or rolls around and plays with her bazillion toys we have for her, but I heard a weird rustling sound and when I peeked around the corner to see what the commotion was all about this is what I saw. It looked like some sort of wild animal hiding in the bush. Claire rolled herself over to this decorative tree I had sitting in the corner and grabbed it and started playing with it! I had to run to get the camera because it was so funny. I kept saying "Where's Claire?", and she would peek from behind the leaves and start laughing. Peek-A-Boo is her new favorite game! It was so cute and so funny! This girl is BUSY... she finds everything!!!

Valentine's Bear

My mom got Claire a Valentine's bear and she loves it! Everytime I show her the bear she smiles and grabs for it! She tried to eat it the first time, but made a funny face... must not have tasted too good! Thanks Nuna for the bear, the yummy sugar cookies and heart shaped plate! That was very sweet of you!

I think there is a bear on my shoulder...

I like this side view of Claire because you can see the angel wings on the back of her shirt!!

Rub a Dub Dub

Okay.... so here's the story. Today Claire took an unusually long nap, almost 3 hours. I went in to get her and unwrapped her and found the poor baby covered in poop. She had rolled onto her belly during her sleep so it was everywhere. This had to be some sort of record for the largest bowel movement in the history of man. I yelled for Ben's assistance because this was definitely a two man job. Really we could've used several more sets of hands. I stripped Claire down in her crib and took her straight to the sink (which we cleaned very well with Clorox afterwards) and gave her her second bath of the day. Ben and I were both amazed that such a cute, little baby could produce something so vile... and it was VILE.

The BUSY Threesome

My best friend, Maria, came down from Michigan with her twins for her Great Grandmother's funeral. She asked if I would watch the twins (Bruce & Brianna) while she went to the viewing and funeral. I was happy to help and looking forward to spending time with the kids! I had them about 4 hours last night for the viewing and was suppose to watch them today, but the funeral was postponed due to the inclement weather. I had so much fun with the twins and they were so well behaved. I was disappointed I get didn't get to watch them today! Claire of course, loved watching Brucie and Bri and the they were very sweet with Claire. They both just kept patting her on the head! I definitely had my hands full with three kids under the age of two (the twins will be two in May), but we had a great time!!!
Brucie... I'm not sure you're suppose to be standing on the couch. You better sit down before my mommy sees you.

Hey Bri, do you think I can have a drink of juice from your sippy cup?
Brianna: "No... this is MY sippy cup, get your own."

Okay, I'll just have a drink from Brucie's cup then.

Your McDonald's and juice sure do look good. I wonder when my mommy is going to let me have the yummy stuff???
